10 of the weirdest and most brilliant pictures sent in by our readers

Sometimes we are sent really useful news tips and pictures, other times we are sent really weird crap like this.

OVER HERE AT TheJournal.ie headquarters we sometimes get sent in really, REALLY random stuff.

While for the most part our readers send us news tips and pictures that are perfectly relevant and useful, sometimes they’re really not.

We used to post some of the weird sh*te that got sent our way, and we’ve recently started bringing back the randomness.

So here’s a look at some of the surprises we got when we opened our inboxes recently:

Doctor doctor

One reader got in touch with a sketch that depicted their medical card application experience here in Ireland.

Horsing around

Another reader sent in a photo of this “thoroughbred stallion” that they spotted on sale on Done Deal.

Galway Tornado

Us Irish love talking about the weather and we regularly get in photos of the sky in all different states.

This one came in with the caption, “Tornado over the Spanish Arch, Galway”.

TEENY TINY

This picture came in simply labeled, ‘Little people of Ireland’.

Scenic

This beauty came in with no caption – not even a location.

Snow chance

A reader got in touch to explain that this is what they faced after travelling for 1 hour and 30 minutes to play in a ladies GAA match in Glenflesk – only to be told the all weather pitch can’t handle snow!

Kerry Ladies Lge. Div.4 Beale Ladies vs Glenflesk. Traveling 1hr 30mins to Glenflesk GAA in a blizzard to the back arse of nowhere.

But fear not, they added, “At least the cup of tea was decent.” Phew!

Cheers

We also got sent in these photos of pictures of drinks on a Facebook page. Yes – we get sent in photos of photos on Facebook – with no attempt made to cover up the screenshot.

We can even see they decided to take the snap after 9pm and they only had 47% battery doing it.

Thanks ever so much for that.

Prettyful

Here’s another – albeit beautiful – image of the sky.

It was taken from Islandbridge, Dublin 8.

Nice View

This picture was sent in by a reader who has a keen interest in dolphins, explaining that they are early in Donegal Bay this summer.

I don’t have photos yet but will keep trying. I live on the cliff with a grandstand view.

Well for some.

‘ “Tornado over the Spanish Arch, Galway”.
Good composition. Kinda weird and ominous with the people staring silently into the distance.
And the girl in the foreground trying to eat the taxi sign.
