Tyndall Institute in Cork evacuated after 'toxic alarm' went off

There were no injuries.

THE TYNDALL NATIONAL Institute in UCC was evacuated this evening after a toxic alarm went off.

The fire service sent around three pumps to the scene to find out what the source of the alarm was. The call to the fire brigade came in at 8.34pm.

No one was injured in the incident and it has not been confirmed what set off the alarm.

This video was taken at the scene tonight:

The Tyndall Institute is a research centre for information and communications technology. Its research areas include photonics, microsystems, micro/nanoelectronics and theory modelling and design.
