CATS HAVE A habit of wandering off for extended periods.
A week, two at a push might not be out of the ordinary – but six years is probably pushing it.
That was the length of time that Chloe, a cat found in Bridgend, Wales was missing for before being reunited with her original owner at the weekend.
Back in 2010 the feline escaped during a routine visit to the vet.
After her owner Rebecca put up pictures and adverts in the local area she received a phone call from someone saying that a cat matching Chloe’s description had been killed.
What Rebecca didn’t know was that the cat had actually just wandered off and was staying with an elderly lady who lived close to the vet.
During the past year this woman died, and the cat was brought to Cats Protection Bridgend Adoption Centre, who reunited her with her owner thanks to the fact that she had been microchipped.
In a statement on their Facebook page, the animal rescue centre said:
Chloe’s story goes to show why microchipping is so important and how effective it is.

I call B.S on that, 11 properties in the western side of the country still without power since 4/2/25 and it says reconnection
currently unknown.
It’s now 2 am Thursday and my power is still off. The ESB telling porkies…..again.

All elderly people without power should be immediately moved to somewhere safe and warm, The same for vulnerable people,lets get a national plan together, organised at council level.
Still no reconnection date. I’ll be three weeks without mod cons like water, flushing toilet, lights cooking facilities and heating tomorrow night. Is that a record?
