A PARENT AND child were rescued from the garage roof of a house in the Finglas area of Dublin this afternoon.
Three units of Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the scene of the fire in the north suburb of the capital.
The two made their escape from the house onto the garage as smoke filled the upstairs of the building, and were safely removed.
The fire service praised the parent for “quick thinking” and said the incident underscored how essential it was to have an escape route planned.
