Take a break to watch this BBC presenter stop a live broadcast to bring a young guest to the toilet

Nature calls.

BBC PRESENTER VICTORIA Derbyshire interrupted a live broadcast of her show, Victoria Live, when she spotted that one of her guests was uncomfortable.

The guest in question, 6-year-old Kai, was squirming in his seat when the presenter asked him if he was doing alright, saying, “What’s the matter darling? Do you need the loo?”.

Kai, who came on the show to talk about SATs tests, can be heard whispering back to Derbyshire that he’s hot.

The presenter then asked her other guests to “carry on talking among yourselves” while she escorted her young guest to the nearest toilet.

If she’d been dismissive of the lad or got some random researcher to do it you’d be complaining all the same.

I thought it was lovely. She didn’t quite handle it as well as she could have, but it was nice to do it if she really sensed he was struggling.

Victoria told her guests to “carry on talking” amongst themselves until she got back. She did not Stop the LIVE Broadcast as the title suggests. IT happened 2days ago Tuesday Morning. The Presenter returned to the studio shorty after to continue debate about the protest over SATs.

“take a break to watch this BBC presenter stop a live broadcast to bring a young guest to the toilet”

Say that in England and they will look blankly at you – “oh, you mean to TAKE the youngster to the toilet”

Being Irish, I never understood this bring/take thing, until someone explained it to me when I lived overseas. Bring/take is directional, so you BRING towards and TAKE away.

I hope she doesn’t get the plaudits she thinks she’s gonna get. ‘So basically the reason I’m here today is to talk about..’ ‘Come on let’s take you to the toilet.’
