NO DEVICE IS ever 100% secure. It’s the reason we have passwords, security codes and other preventative measures installed on our phones.
Yet you could have a situation where your phone has been compromised without realising it. In the case of an iPhone, where security is generally great, the only way you can get around its security measures is to jailbreak a phone.
It’s unlikely that your phone would be jailbroken without your knowledge. However, if you bought a used one, or it was returned to you after losing it, and you feel something’s amiss, then there certainly no harm in checking. Especially since there’s no obvious way to tell if a phone has been jailbroken or not.
The app, called System and Security Info, was designed by a security researcher called Stefan Esseer and tells users whether their phone has been jailbroken or compromised. It also gives users a more detailed look into running processes, CPU usage and memory.
On top of detecting jailbroken phones, it can search for and detect different anomalies although not all are necessary malicious (we found one anomaly related to GAXClient.bundle but that was down to Guided Access being turned on in Accessibility settings).
The only thing is it might be overkill for many people and anything outside of the overview section will likely be incomprehensible to most people, but if your phone is compromised or there’s something wrong with it, it’s probably best to get in touch with Apple directly so you can get it fixed.
As for general things you can do for security, Apple does a good job in keeping the security for iPhones and iPads locked down so provided you’ve updated to the latest version, you should be safe for the most part.

How about not been able to turn off the location tracking from the flight deck. Its bonkers that Google can tell me exactly where I have been been but not planes. Seriously how has this not been fixed yet. Guess there is no extra charge the airlines can come up with for it.

@PedroB: or maybe just turn off location permission on your device from your own cockpit! Then google couldn’t find you either.
