Last month was the hottest April the planet has experienced in modern times

That’s 369 months in a row that temperatures were at or above average.

IT MAY NOT have felt like it for much of the month in Ireland, but last month was the warmest April the planet has seen in modern times.

The figures from NASA show that April was the seventh month in a row to have broken climate records.

The global temperature in April was 1.11 degrees Celsius above the average from 1951-1980. That is higher than the April record from 2010 by a quarter of a degree.

PastedImage-62008 NASA Goddard Institute NASA Goddard Institute

The figures continue a trend of 369 consecutive months where figures were at or above average.

The last time temperatures were below average was July 1985.

The figures released over the weekend make it all but certain that 2016 will be hottest year ever and probably by the largest margin ever.

The figures come days after Climate Change Minister Denis Naughten met with the European Commissioner for Climate Action, Miguel Arias Canete.

Naughten said that Ireland is “fully committed to the climate agenda”, despite fears that the country will miss its climate goals in the next decade and a half.

UN climate negotiators meet today in the German city of Bonn for the first time since the Paris deal in December.

Senior representatives face the task of turning the broad lines of the historic deal into operational reality.

You can see immediately south of the Artic ice caps where the ice is melting is causing it to be cooler than average as the cold water moves south into the north Atlantic, Ireland is just inside this catchment zone
Once these caps melting settle this cold pocket will decrease and we will be inside of the hotter area and we will feel the heat babes

NASA/GISS is yet another mess of corruption for Mr. Trump to sort out as POTUS. Only their massaged data shows warming , the satellite data shows none so they have chosen to ignore it just as they do with the data from the Argos Buoys which failed to find the heat they claimed was hidden in the oceans. AGW is the biggest financial and political scam ever.

I’ll tell you what is stupid of not reckless Prionsias, the actual proposal that long term weather patterns shade off into planetary climate so these academics can run amok with computer modelling.

The Earth is not the only planet that has a climate and climate is not determined in terms of heat/cold or distance from the Sun . The tragedy is that the ‘climate change’ bandwagon managed to make it appear that they can model planetary temperatures like they do short term weather patterns by beginning with the notion that the planet acts like a common greenhouse and not an object in motion where temperatures respond to multiple different inputs.

Gerald all the evidence points to man made climate change, therefore we can do two things:

    1. Change our ways and hope we are not too late for catastrophic effects to occur.
    2. Do nothing; hope it’s not man made and that we suffer no catastrophic effects.

If we do #1 and we are right then we have possibly saved civilisation as we know in the short term (next 1000 years or so).

If it’s #2 and we have done #1 then we may lessen the catastrophic effects. If it’s #2 and we do nothing then our civilisation will be probably be more seriously effected.

    The intelligent option is #1.

Well Boganity, I actually spoke with these people inside JPL and their policy after the so-called ‘climategate’ papers was to hire even more people will for shove global warming down the throats of the wider population. Ever hear of a weather forecaster admitting they got short term weather wrong and you will get an idea what you are actually following.

It might be fine to show a temperature graph with skyrocketing temperatures within this article but the last time I posted a temperature graph where daily temperatures respond to a turning Earth, about 95 % of readers in the Journal disagreed with rotational cause and temperature effect -

    http://prairieecosystems.pbworks.com/f/1179343887/crerar%20temperature%20variation.jpg

True story, they made a huge mistake a few centuries ago and cannot admit that they lost the most basic fact imaginable which ties the rise in warmth until the afternoon and then a drop in temperatures after that with a turning Earth.

” It is a fact not generally known that, owing to the difference between solar and sidereal time, the Earth rotates upon its axis once more often than there are days in the year” NASA /Harvard

Far from registering that as an impossibility I see nothing but acquiescence to that junk and that can be truly dismaying.

Pronsias, the best I can tell you is that you are incredibly naive and granted while most academics who do promote ‘climate change’ are driven by the ideological convictions of the story they created, there are a lot of reputations, pensions and salaries relying on continuing the doom laden agenda. Your two options don’t really exist, what does exist is an ideological nightmare where these ‘scientists’ believe that if temperatures go up then they will say more needs to be done and if temperatures fall then they will say that the measures are working, either way this win-win situation has nothing to do with genuine climate research.

Papers indeed !, you mean academic citation warfare where nothing ever gets done and these people on both sides of the same coin make nuisances of themselves. I would be looking for a reply where somebody asked – ‘ How the F@ck did scientists manage to lose the explanation with the daily rise and fall in temperatures and the rotation behind it ?’.

Climate for all planets is based on the degree of inclination within a spectrum bookended on one side by an Equatorial climate (0° inclination) and a Polar climate at the other end of the spectrum (90° inclination). With the attempt to shove planetary climate into human lifestyle choices and petrol pump politics (no longer parish pump politics) there is no room for people of common sense to deal with climate as it should., at least at the moment.

The academic belief is that the Earth turns once more often than there are days in a year and subsequently more rotations than daily temperature rises and falls as people should be able follow each rotation using a temperature graph linking effect with cause -

    http://www.timeanddate.com/weather/ireland/dublin/hourly

Sun comes into view due to rotation = warming towards afternoon.

Sun disappears from view due to rotation = cooling towards dawn.

Somehow the academics managed to convince themselves that there is one more rotation than the normal warming and cooling each day and that is worse than desperate, it is dire in the extreme -

My dear Alan, there is a sort of perceptual blindspot that I find remarkable today as I did 20 years ago when I started to look at how theorists approached astronomy and especially the relationship between cause and effect, even basic ones such as what causes the Sun to come into view and your location to warm up through the day. Basic science should be – how did our ancestors know that an extra day (and rotation) is required at the end of 4 years in order to keep the seasonal landmarks and festivals fixed to the Solstices and Equinoxes ?. You seem like a fine family man yet your children will come under the influence of ‘climate change’ which amounts to the belief that humanity can control the planet’s temperature by doing or not doing something which is remarkable in itself just as the idea that the Earth rotates once more often than there are days in a year.

I had presented the daily temperature graph as an interpretative test against the mainstream belief that there are more days than rotations as I assume most people can read one rotation from the rise and falls in daily temperature -

    http://www.timeanddate.com/weather/ireland/dublin

You then get to decide, and that means you Alan, whether the academic belief is a possibility or an impossibility -

Avina Laaf, a few years ago they needed to change their story, much like changing global warming to the intellectually suicidal ‘climate change,’ so they conjured a alternative story out of thin air that the Earth turned once in 24 hours back in the year 1820 -

“At the time of the dinosaurs, Earth completed one rotation in about 23 hours,” says MacMillan, who is a member of the VLBI team at NASA Goddard. “In the year 1820, a rotation took exactly 24 hours, or 86,400 standard seconds. Since 1820, the mean solar day has increased by about 2.5 milliseconds.” NASA

    http://www.nasa.gov/topics/solarsystem/features/extra-second.html

For me to explain how all the pieces fit together is not possible within the confines of a thread or this forum , it is enough to see how academics can format an ‘explanation’ to suit a conclusion. It is your right to believe the Earth turns once more than there are days while the same community you follow has now morphed to a ‘new’ version based on a non cyclical assertion to serve a purpose.

You are not wasting your time lad,you are wasting your life like so many others who have yet to escape what is effectively an empirical cult.
