IT’S JUST UNDER three months since the general election, and now Fianna Fáil has drawn level with Fine Gael in terms of popularity.

A new Red C poll conducted for the Sunday Business Post shows that after an exceptionally close election result Fianna Fáil has bridged the gap between itself and its old foe.

The two largest parties now stand tied on 26% approval apiece from the electorate.

That compares to after the election result which saw Fine Gael on 26% and Fianna Fáil on 24%.

Sinn Féin remains unchanged on 15% post-election.

Labour has seen a slight change in its fortunes for the better with a 2% jump to 6%.

The poll was conducted among 1,000 voters over four days last week.

  • Fine Gael 26% (-1)
  • Fianna Fáil 26% (+1)

  • Labour 6% (+2)
  • AAA-PBP 5% (+1)

We don’t have seasons in Ireland. The cold rain just slowly gives way to the warmer rain.

What’s with all the wusses who spend ages laboriously scraping their car windows with a piece of plastic because they’re afraid they’ll make the kettle of water too hot? That’s no way to live.
