€2.50 a line from mid September and an extra star number. I think it’ll be 12 balls instead of 11. Not sure if the other balls are increasing, too!

Lotteries are for people who have no grasp of statistics. Irish lotto is 8.5 million to 1. So the jackpot figure/ 8.5 million is what your ticket is actually worth. (Not €1)

That statistic doesn’t account for the value of the entertainment gained from the anticipation of winning. It is a common misconception of the value if lottery tickets, because the prize is monetary in nature people assume that the only value of the ticket is monetary in nature.

Irish Lotto is 11 million to 1. I haven’t played it since hearing this figure.

You are trying to sound clever but you are presuming there are less than 8.5 million lines bpught, which you have no knowledge of. People do not do the lotto for the statistical probability. Its for the possibility.
