Man buys lottery ticket because of itchy hand ... wins €250k

Good call.

A MAN WHO scooped a €250,000 prize from the National Lottery said he knew he should play the game because he had an itch in his hand.

The man, from Crumlin in Dublin, won the top prize in last Wednesday’s Lotto Plus 2 draw.

Speaking today, he said: “I’d buy a Lotto ticket every now and then, I’m not a regular player, but these past few weeks I’ve had a feeling that I can’t describe – like something good was coming my way.

“I woke up the other morning with an itch in my hand so I gave my son a couple of quid and told him to go buy me a scratch card.”

“I won €8 on the scratch card so I bought a Lotto ticket with the winnings,” he said.

The man bought the ticket in Frehill’s Spar, St Agnes Park, Dublin 12.

I actually watched the draw on Wednesday night but it didn’t even register that I could be a winner. I left it to the next day to check my ticket and I couldn’t believe it when I saw I’d won. I was in shock and still can’t believe it. I’ve never won anything in my life before this.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was joined by his partner, son and two daughters as he picked up his cheque.

Speaking of his plans for his winnings, the man said: “I’ll look after my family. This will make the road ahead a little easier.”

There were two winning ticketholders of the Lotto Plus 2′s top prize in last Wednesday’s draw, each winning €250,000. The second winning ticket was sold in Hannon’s Daybreak in Dunmore, Co Galway. The second ticket holder has not yet claimed their prize.

Haha what a spoofer. That “itchy hand ” is the last word of many dreamer and gambler . The guy won a scratch card and then bought a lotto with the winnings like many of thousands of people each week.
It’s incredible the amounts of winners that seem to pat themselves on the back for winning rather than being humbled by what is truly incredible good luck .
