Green line Luas down between Brides Glen and Carrickmines

It comes as there is no Dublin Bus services operating in the capital today.

THE GREEN LINE Luas is currently not operating between Brides Glen and Carrickmines.

This is due to power lines being down at the Laughanstown Stop.

According to a statement from Luas, maintenance are on site and working to restore power.

For now, the green line is only operating between Carrickmines and St Stephen’s Green.

It comes as there is no Dublin Bus services operating in the capital today or tomorrow as the drivers take industrial action over pay.

Traffic in the capital is expected to be extremely heavy on commuter routes during peak hours.

The red Luas line is operating as normal.

    There was a very suspiciously parked car in the bus lane on my way in. It was facing the wrong way which would be very difficult to do.

    Sure hop on the Dart lads. There’s room in that little corner over there between that man’s armpit and that other fella’s backpack but you’ll have to stand on one foot and pray nobody farts.

    Another day another reason to be glad I don’t live or work in Dublin! Solidarity with all those trying to get around or to work this morning, though. This dispute looks like it could be around for a while

    No we need one in 10 years based on population projections and it takes 5 to build so it’s so it’s smart to build it now

    long distances for some but lot of people in suburbs not far out from the city could easily walk or cycle. how many people bought bikes on cycle to work scheme that end up as a clothes horse or on donedeal months later? meanwhile the nation is getting fatter and fatter! The big answer is I regularly cycle 40km round trip to work and run 4 times a week for exercise.

    While I fully support other options than cars many commuters travel way to far for any other option than a car. There certainly are lots of people who could walk or cycle but won’t. Partly down to the expensive of just owning a car makes them want to use it. If they bring in a pay by use insurance and tax it would make a difference. The technology exists

    @Matt Connolly:

    Free parking? Since when? As far as I know a motorcyclist may only legally park in the handful of designated cycle/motorcycle places in the city. That was the way it was years ago when I was a motorcyclist. I do agree however that I have only seen a ticket on one motorcycle ever as wardens ignore them and the clampers don’t have clamps suitable for a motorcycle.
