ONE OF THE four homes that now occupy Vanbrugh Castle has entered the market at £2.75 million (about €3.2 million).

Constructed in 1719 by architect John Vanbrugh, the Grade I listed property was divided into four wings in the 1970s.
The castle was Vanbrugh’s own home and he contrasted the Baroque style he’d used when designing Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard with a more gothic aesthetic for his private creation.
From 1920 until its conversion in 1975, the castle acted as a school for the children of Royal Air Force (RAF) servicemen who died in battle.
While most properties in central London struggle for green space, Vanbrugh is set within 2.5 acres of formal lawns and woodland. It also has its own knot garden.
The castle boasts incredible views of central London and Canary Wharf.

This can’t be right I’m after paying over 2.5 m for a 3 bedroom in dulwich village. I’m feeling done .
That must be a typo …3.6 million… No way … Must have serious preservation orders on it or must need major renovations
Agree 100% € 3.2 million is pocket change in the London realty market.
I remember when all of the castle was for sale at £90,000 in the 1970.’s. It did not find a buyer until a group of local people decided to try communal living.
