The 5 at 5 Make like a movie (or TV!) star, whatever your bank balance.

SOMETIMES the car is the star. Think the General Lee in the Dukes of Hazzard, KITT in Knight Rider or Herbie in The Love Bug.

Sometimes, iconic characters are defined by their wheels – like Dominic Toretto and his Dodge Charger in the Fast and Furious franchise, or James Bond and his Aston Martins.

So if you want to make like a star of the big or little screen, we’ve rounded up five motors from the movies, from the top-end dream car to the distinctly affordable.

2008 Audi R8, €79,950

Audi R8 Done Deal Done Deal

Make like a super hero in this 2008 Audi R8 4.2 FSi quattro with 420hp and a six-speed manual transmission. It’s much like Tony Stark/Iron Man’s car, only his was finished in Ice Silver paint and this one comes in Daytona Grey pearl effect with Oxygen Silver side blades. We think this one looks cooler.

Under €60k

1983 Porsche 911 SC, £43,950

Done Deal Done Deal

Roll up your sleeves and make like Jeff Bridges in Against All Odds in this gorgeous 1980s Porsche. OK, the 911 SC in the movie was a Cabrio, but that was set in sunny California. This version is more suited to the wet Irish weather and your 80s bouffant will stay in place a lot longer.

1991 GMC Happy Times Van, €10,000

Done Deal Done Deal

Wanna be the toughest looking neighbour on your street? Want people to think you are a crack commando, or just a craic commando? Well then this A-Team GMC van is for you.

This is a Happy Times van conversion with original interior and three awesome captain’s swivel seats so you and your mates can make like soldiers of fortune.

Under €10k

1978 Chevrolet Camaro, €9,750

Done Deal Done Deal

The 1978 Chevy Camaro has made many cameos throughout the years. It is particularly loved by on-screen cops and detectives, appearing in TV shows including Murder She Wrote, Hill Street Blues and CSI as well as films like Transformers, Fast Times at Ridgemont High and the original (and best) RoboCop.

This particular version is restored to a very high standard, but it has a V8 that growls so there is probably no way you could sneak up on any bad guys.

Under €5k

2003 MINI Cooper, €2,150

Done Deal Done Deal

Do you even need to me to tell you what movie stars the Mini? And you certainly don’t want to hear my Michael Caine impression.

The cars used in the original and remake of The Italian Job were Cooper S models – this one here is the Cooper – but with its red paint job, white roof and white stripes it is nearly identical looking to the one Stella (Charlize Theron) drove in the 2003 film.

If they put Boris back in again, the conservative party will be perceived to being beyond a joke. Although UK politics has gone from bad to worse so it would not surprise me. It’s like spitting image has come to real life.

Ding the numbers i think Boris could get back…
He probably has enough to get the 100 MPs.
Sunak is not popular among the membership who 95% white and 75% remainers…
Sunak is about fiscal responsibility which to them is not as appealing as popularism which Truss was also.
This is how popularism works it is sbout not being responsible, UK learnt the hard way that you can’t promise the world and then borrow and tax cut/spend.
This is a lesson to why Sinn Fein’s fincial plans need far more scrutiny.

I wouldn’t go that far… In a National Pole Boris is a liability…. Starmer is way ahead… Sunak or Penny are the strongest in an election…

Boris will be awful when judged by the markets… It is the markets that putting pressure on UK finances and they want fiscal responsibility. Boris spends like he buying wallpapers…

What a divided country. Every sector looking out for themselves. The best thing for the country is irrelevant. Capitalism, multiculturalism, liberalism is to blame.

@Celtic Eagle: Because they had a bunch
of people telling them that Europe was holding Britain back, drowning the country in foreigners (lazy layabouts on the dole taking all our jobs) and demanding vast payments for no return. Leaving Europe would provide 350 million a week to spend on the NHS.
In other words they were fed a pack of sweet sounding lies and just over half that voted fell for them.

So it Will be down to Boris or Mordaunt, and poor Mordaunt hasn’t a chance against Boris. Sunak is only there so it gives the impression that the Tory party is not racist, but they will never have a “foreign looking” person as PM, there are too many white Eton toffs pulling the strings in the background. I’d put my money on Boris. Also I think with Boris running it will dissuade any other tory leader wannabees from running.

Politics shoud be about running a country, working for the people, bettering ourselves to be strong responsible human beings. Its now just about popularity and party over people. England needs a general election and get rid of the posh gang.
