IT’S ALL OVER, we’ve had a good night’s sleep and now it’s time to have a think about what we really make of Budget 2017.
As expected, there has been a mixed reaction to the hikes, cuts and handouts.
Farmers, fishermen, landlords, social welfare recipients and older people are among some of the winners – while motorists, smokers and tenants didn’t get much good news.
Children’s rights groups say that while the childcare subsidy is welcomed, they’re disappointed more hasn’t been done to improve schools.
And while there was also some good news for the self-employed - it received criticism for being “not at all Brexit-proof”.

If there was an uncontrolled descent into the sea or even a controlled ditching into the sea, the prospect of survivors must be fast diminishing.
