Over €4 million worth of drugs found in routine search of vehicle

The drugs were found in a vehicle that was importing plant machinery.

OVER €4 MILLION worth of drugs were seized by customs officers on Sunday.

The drugs were found in a vehicle that was importing plant machinery.

Around 60 kilos of herbal cannabis, 33 kilos of cocaine, 2.2 kilos of MDMA and more than 72,000 ecstasy tablets were seized.

It happened in the border/midlands/west region, but no exact location is being given at this point.

The vehicle had been profiled by Revenue officers at the national profiling centre.

Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.
