Cars, cash and jewellery seized in CAB raids targeting Dublin gang

Some 46 cars were seized when 20 premises were raided this morning.

SOME 46 CARS and significant amounts of cash, jewellery and watches were seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) in Dublin this morning.

Around 20 premises were raided in a series of searches at around 10am, including car showrooms, garages and solicitor and accountancy offices.

CAB officers and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau searched the premises after receiving search warrants.

A considerable amount of documentation and electronic equipment was also seized.

It’s understood that the raids were part of an ongoing operation into the serious organised criminal activity of a west Dublin gang and the suspected laundering of the proceeds of such criminality.

Gardaí say that investigations are ongoing.

One week ago thousands of people marched in my town. 24hrs later a young person tragically took their own life here.

You see, this ‘darkness into life’ thing is very nobile and absolutely well intentioned. nobody wants to be seen to criticise it – but it has gone too far. There’s too great a focus, too great an emphasis on it now.

It’s become that it’s now socially acceptable, that you will be remembered when you’re gone. Think i’m wrong? Well how come our awareness of suicide has never been higher yet our suicide rate continues to be Epidemically high? How come more and more of our young people take these actions? I don’t know the answer but clearly an organisation that is in part offering help and in part remembering those who have died is not the answer.
