NINE PEOPLE WERE taken to hospital last night after an accident at the Tayto amusement park in Co Meath.
In a statement, Tayto Park said the lower portion of a permanent staircase leading to the House of Horrors “gave way”.
“The Tayto Park emergency plan was immediately put in place and the emergency services attended the scene.”
Nine people were transported to various hospitals “as a precautionary measure” to assess their injuries, the park said.
All nine have now been discharged following the incident.
“The management of Tayto Park will co-operate fully with the investigation as the safety of our guests is paramount.”
The amusement park will re-open today from 10am.

Well it gives very few details on what actually happened, I am sure they will have the stairs closed off but shouldn’t be issues with the rest… I mean we’re it a road traffic accident would you close the road both ways, and for this long? I don’t think so, I’m sure the HSA and whoever else will be there investigating too, but why would they close.

Surprised they are open today, if they really cared about the publics safety they would close today and have structural engineers inspect all staircases as they are most likely constructed by the same company.

People on here should think of the investment this family has put into this venture, I hope all is ok and business gets back to normal, I would say 99% of comments are from people who never took a chance on anything in there life.
