Latest poll puts Clinton at a double-digit lead over Trump

With just over two weeks to go before Election Day, the two White House hopefuls are targeting key battleground states like Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania

HILLARY CLINTON HAS soared to a 12-point lead over Donald Trump in the race for the White House, according to a new poll released today, with the real estate magnate’s support tanking among key voter groups.

The Republican presidential nominee has seen dismal poll numbers since a string of women came forward earlier this month to accuse him of sexual assault or inappropriate behavior in the past.

He has also stirred controversy by refusing to say that he will accept the result of the 8 November election no matter what, calling the process “rigged.”

Clinton, the Democratic former secretary of state, leads 50% to 38% in a four-way contest with two minor party candidates, according to a national ABC News poll.

It was up from Clinton’s four percentage point edge in an ABC News/Washington Post poll conducted 10 days ago.

Trump held a small 47-43% lead among white Americans, a group that Republican Mitt Romney won by 20 points in the 2012 election.

Republican candidates must have strong support from white voters if they want to win, with non-white voters overwhelmingly favoring Democratic candidates.

Clinton leads 55-35% among women, and has doubled her lead to 32 points among college-educated white women – a group strongly critical of Trump’s response to allegations of inappropriate behavior.

Campaign 2016 Clinton Andrew Harnik Andrew Harnik

The poll even showed Clinton leading for the first time among men, 44 to 41% – although that lead is within the poll’s margin of error.

With just over two weeks to go before Election Day, the two White House hopefuls are targeting key battleground states like Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Team Clinton is hoping for a landslide win, even holding out hope of taking back control of at least one of the two houses of Congress from the Republicans.

“We’re not taking anything for granted at all,” campaign manager Robby Mook told Fox News.

Secretary Clinton at the beginning of this campaign said she wanted to help all candidates up and down the ballot. So we’re running a coordinated campaign, working hard with gubernatorial, Senate and House candidates. But we’re not – you know, this is not over yet.

Early voting has begun in several states, and the initial details were positive, Mook said.

We feel very, very good about what we’ve seen so far… And we’re encouraged also by who is turning out.

Trump has tried to change the narrative, outlining his plan for his first 100 days in office yesterday, including a pledge to create 25 million jobs and cut taxes for middle-class Americans.

“The fact is that this race is not over,” Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told Fox News on Sunday, outlining a plan to win crucial battleground states.

He’s not – we’re not giving up. We know we can win this.

Trump’s son Eric said polls don’t reflect the support of people who haven’t been on voter rolls for years but will turn out on Election Day to support the populist candidate.

“I’m so incredibly proud. He’s carried the weight of this country for the last 18 months. I happen to think we’re going to win,” Eric Trump said on ABC.

    Last 4 National Polls:

    Rasmussen: Clinton 41 Trump 43
LA Times: Clinton 44 Trump 44
    IDB/TIPP: Clinton 41 Trump 43
ABC News: Clinton 50 Trump 38

Whether you like Trump or not, media selectivity in news reports and polling shows why more and more people distrust the media.

@Robert Burke: the website Pollster aggregates nearly all of the polls (except those clearly inaccurate / biased) and maintains a blended average at the link below. This blend is a good indicator of the mind of the nation:

@bopster I use real clear politics who post every poll from reputable polling agencies. IDB/TIPP was the most accurate poll in the last 2 election cycles.

I’m glad you trust the Huffington post to give you unbiased news and only choose the unbiased polls.

Brent Budowsky of the Huffington Post colluding with the campaign on how to attack trump https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/1343

Ryan Grim of Huffington Post seeking authorisation from the Clinton Campaign team for a story on Clinton and TPP https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/26655

Bob Creamer the DNC official who had to step down after being stung in a Project Veritas expose where he was telling the investigative Journalist how they conduct voter fraud also works for the Huffington Post.

The Podesta Emails have shown collusion between multiple supposed news organisations not just in planting stories against Trump but during the Democratic primaries where they did the same to Sanders.

One referendum out of 100′s held internationally every year is not a trend nor does Trump winning 50.1% of the popular vote mean he’s won the election. He needs a virtually unwinnable amount of electoral college votes. He needs to over turn traditionally blue states AFTER voting has already begun. It’s not a case of scraping across the line like Brexit.

@Poole Hyde: I would remind you that in advance of the Brexit vote the bookies had the remain side in front.
Bookies take into account the amount of money being betted. In the case of Brexit more money was being wagered on the remain side, however when it came to individual bets it turned out that many more smaller bets were being placed on the leave vote.
It would be interesting to see what this situation is in the US – i.e. money amounts versus the number of individual bets.

The media in general are ok – but come one if Trump was an irish politician he’d never get elected to a local community group – i have met no-one who thinks Trump should be president – and all the bad things that have happened are because of what he has said himself.

For those of us old enough we have fond memories of the clintons because of the peace process.. sin e – Ireland has always been a fan of the democrats because tehy are the most similar to our values – and so perhaps the media reflects this – and people in ireland know about Hilary and you know what ? they don’t really care. Its the show we are all watching – we don’t have a vote in it.

Much like the hatred of Obama the stuff with clinton is totally over the top these rabid young lads chomping at the bit way more then they would over say a Tim Kaine or a bill clinton.. it belies something deeper and you know what it is ? one is racism the other is misogyny…

Journalism and broadcasting have been demeaned and belittled by their lack of objectivity and in some cases basic honesty. It’s more like the SSM referendum here where Iona etc had lost weeks out and were desperately trying to convince themselves that there were hidden supporters buried somewhere, that the polls were wrong or that personal attacks were actually an argument. Anyway by Trumps own admission the election “is rigged” so I guess there’s no reason to bother voting for him anyway.

It was clear to anyone that the “SSM” was going to end up the way it did, there was a mass hysteria similar to the grief-fest surrounding Diana Spencer’s death. It was there for all to see except those that wanted to delude themselves.

The self delusion in this election is by those who will not see the biased media or that the race is much closer than it appears. And yes there is a shy Trump constituency, the same as there was a shy leave vote in the UK referendum.

Hey, the GOP threw independent media in the US under a bush decades ago and The Journal are under no obligation to be unbiased especially when it’s Trump pushing himself into the limelight so much. He wanted this during the primaries thinking there was no such thing as bad publicity. Now that it’s over for him and he’s off back to reality TV land it’s everyone else’s fault that he couldn’t play the game. Imagine what really good/devious politicians would do with a naive idiot like Trump on the world stage. The most basic of all political skills is to get the media on side and to try and control the narrative. It’s politics 101 and he couldn’t even do that right. The guy’s a joke.
