It stated that a car was searched and the weapons were found. It was obviously a parked car with nobody inside it. Hopefully they will track down the people responsible.

Cool. Maybe a variation, magazines look similar. Scary that that kind of weaponry is on the streets.

What’s interesting is the 5 rounds in the evidence bag in the last picture, not 9×19 and don’t look like revolver ammunition (more like automatic ammunition), rounds for a firearm that’s missing?

@UnixBSD: Possibly. Rounds for a revolver are stubby and shorter?

Not necessarily, revolver ammunition is usually rimmed and auto ammunition is rimless, also pistol ammunition usually doesn’t have a tapered neck (modern 4.6 H&K and FN five-seven being the main exceptions) the only thing I can think of that looks similar to the rounds in the bag is Russian or Chinese 7.62×25mm – these are usually for older pistols, but are still found in use anywhere that was under the Soviet or Chinese sphere of influence ( a good few probably floating around Afghanistan, Pakistan, N.Korea, Vietnam etc.).

Almost, slight difference in ejection port, charging handle and fore grip, tbh it’s difficulty to say for sure without a higher resolution photo.

Replicas don’t usually have mags with rounds in them, the mags for blank firers wouldn’t hold standard 9×19 rounds and anyone trained in firearms would spot a replica after a 30 second inspection and field strip, it’s possible they are replicas, I would doubt it looking at the photos.

There’s plenty of ammunition available where the actual bullet is a very similar colour to the casing, (this also happens when copper jacketed bullets dull over time or where incorrectly stored), the rounds in the mags do not appear to have the same attributes and the second round in one of the mags appears to be more copper coloured and shaped differently (this is usual where ammunition from mixed sources is utilised). That said, all of the observations are based on low resolution photographs.
