Poll: Did you remember to get batteries?

Sorry to bring it up – but better safe than sorry!

IRISH PEOPLE ARE expected to generate 20 million waste batteries tomorrow alone, and many more across the Christmas period.

So as we approach the big day, we thought it might be a good time to check in with the households of Ireland on this issue.

Did you remember to get them? Do you need to do a quick run to the garage?

We’re asking: Did you remember to get batteries?

Poll Results:

Yes (2155)
I don't need batteries, it's grand (1263)
Whoops - off to the garage I go (425)

Didn’t you guys tell us it was going to be a rotten weekend and not to venture outside last friday? It turned out to be a lovely weekend in Dublin.

How would he know what the weather was like everywhere else in the country if he lives in Dublin.. Stop looking for reasons to be annoyed.

The alerts in combination with internet hysteria are getting out of hand now. Was all set for a nice weekend inside doing nothing after seeing the forecast on Friday, instead it was lovely out and I had to go out for a F*&*ing walk to ease my conscience.

Is this the same warning that was issued on Friday, that brought nothing except a few leaves knocked off trees? Seriously questioning Met Eireanns credibility. Warning has been in place since 4am, been up since half 6 here in Cork and it is the calmest day in about a week. Get your sh*t together Met Eireann!

Met Eireann warning posted at 4am. As it says on the tin the alert is valid from 7pm tonight through to 6pm tomorrow so why would you expect windy conditions at the moment????

Here’s a clue Adrian, it’s a forecast. Still confused? Look up definition of forecast. Oh, now you get it. Now at least we’re all on the same page. My work here is done.

@Wicklow Weather – because the original warning was for Saturday morning to Sunday night and, for many of us anyway, doesn’t seem to have materialised.

My grandfather used to gauge the weather in Kerry this way.. “If it’s not raining, it’s about to rain”.. Think we should settle with that :)
