Enda at Christmas

Watch: The Taoiseach's Christmas message to Ireland

Enda Kenny has delivered a Christmas message. Watch it here.

TAOISEACH ENDA KENNY has delivered a Christmas message to the people of Ireland.

In the two-minute recording released this afternoon, Kenny begins by saying that we are living in “such extraordinarily difficult times” but notes that Christmas is a time to think about things we are “thankful for” and “blessed to have in our lives”.

He notes that Christmas will be tough for some who have lost family members to emigration – “too many Christmas greetings exchanged over the phone and Skype” – but he insists the government is committed to turning “around our country’s fortunes and bring our children home”.
