Post-mortems to take place after three killed in Waterford crash

Six people who were injured in the collision remain in hospital this morning.

POST-MORTEMS ARE due to take place on the bodies of three men who were killed in a car crash in Waterford yesterday morning.

The collision between two cars happened on the N72 on the outskirts of Dungarvan between the junctions of the N25 and R672 at around 10am.

One of the cars went on fire and all three occupants were killed. The six people in the other car, some of whom were children, were seriously injured. They were airlifted to hospitals in Cork and Waterford.

It is understood all six remain in hospital this morning.

The three men who were killed have not yet been formally identified and post-mortems are scheduled to take place later today.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for information about the crash. Anyone who may have travelled on this stretch of road at the time of the collision is asked to contact Dungarvan garda station on 058 48600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

    That was a terrible terrible crash. Rip to the victims. That poor family in the second vehicle will probably never fell safe on the road again. I hope they make a full recovery.
