12-year-old girl killed and 11-year-old in critical condition after hit and run

It’s reported that the young girls were crossing the road holding hands when they were struck by a car.

A 12-YEAR-OLD girl has died, while an 11-year-old is in a critical condition, after a hit and run in Manchester yesterday evening

It happened on Ashton Road near to Copster Hill Road in Oldham at around 7.15pm.

Helena Kotlaroba died at the scene while Zaneta Krokova is in a critical condition in hospital.

It’s reported that the young girls were crossing the road holding hands when they were struck by a car.

The driver of the car did not stop and officers are currently trying to locate them. Police are searching for the driver of a black Volkswagen Golf.

Sergeant Lee Westhead, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “These are tragic circumstances where a young girl has lost her life and I would urge anyone who knows anything to do with this collision to contact police immediately.

“Another girl is currently fighting for her life in hospital and specially trained officers are supporting the families involved.”

Leaving the scene like that is utterly pathetic. I hope whoever did this is caught and has the book thrown at them.

Leaving the scene is the most cowardly thing possible. I hope they get whoever did it and they do serious time.
