AN EIGHT-YEAR-old boy has passed away in hospital nearly two weeks after being involved in a car crash.
Daniel O’Keeffe was in the car with his mother Emma when the crash happened along the Nobber to Kilberry road in Meath.
Mrs O’Keeffe died of her injuries a day after the crash. Daniel was brought to Temple Street Children’s Hospital. He passed away this afternoon.
A garda spokesman confirmed this evening that the child had died from his injuries.
Local Sinn Féin councillor Michael Gallagher told TheJournal.ie the community is “in a state of shock”.
“People have huge sympathy towards the woman’s family. It’s such a tragedy, a terrible thing to happen to a family,” he said.
Witness appeal
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
The road was closed to allow a forensic collision examination, but has since reopened.
Gardaí in Navan are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 046 9036100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Can people not just grow old gracefully??!!
Vanity, insecurity, ego, shallowness, and weak personality are some of the reasons.
That was in reply to Trudy, asking why people can’t just age gracefully.
I never got why people would essentially inject botulism into their face…
I must admit if my teeth were wonky its the only thing I would get treatment for! Oh yeah and my hair I hate my hair its like fuzzy and I won’t spend money on it Lucky people who have straight hair and dont tell me straighteners they work for about 10 minutes on mine!!! Lol I dont mind grey but oh God the frizz! Any injections for that???

Can’t understand how people would risk getting that crap injected into their face of all places….I am growing old somewhat gracefully, don’t like it but what can you do!
