Man arrested for gangland murder of Eddie Hutch

The taxi driver was shot dead at his home in February of last year.

A MAN IN his late 20s has been arrested by gardaí in relation to the gangland murder of Eddie Hutch Snr.

The man was detained in the northside of the capital at around 2.30pm this afternoon, according to gardaí.

A spokesman said: “The man arrested is currently detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 in north Dublin.”

Following Hutch’s death, locals living near Poplar Row described him as ‘a decent guy’ who wasn’t involved with gangland crime.

The father of five and taxi driver was not known to gardaí as an active criminal, though he had minor crimes against his name.

It is thought he was killed because his brother is Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch. Eddie Hutch Snr, who was aged in his 50s, was shot dead at his home on Poplar Row in the North Strand area of Dublin’s northside, near Fairview, in February of last year. Four gunmen burst into his home and shot him up to six times before fleeing in a getaway car.

    @Marcus Bale:
    You obviously read the red tops and the journal. They are all obsessed with this inner city gang feud.

    @Sam Lowry: One thing I know is when they bury the inventor of the USB stick, they will lower him into the ground, wind him up and turn him around, then try again.

    According to paddy Barnes “he’s not been convicted of anything “. Please keep that in mind before shelling out cash to watch him knock out a Hungarian dishwasher who’s been given 4 days notice to fight .
