Yay! 12 things that will be cheaper in 2012

2012 will be a year for wine-drinking holidaymakers who love electronics, seemingly.

TOLL FARES, TRAIN tickets and household taxes – all things that have become more expensive since 31 December.

But fear not, Business Insider has done some research and there will be plenty of things getting cheaper this year.

It may be a particularly good 12 months if you love gadgets, alcoholic beverages and going on holiday.

I like how everything that will be cheaper is a luxury item…

So things are cheaper for people with spare cash?! While essentials are more expensive That’s not great news for most to be honest.

Yes, it looks like if you still have plenty of discretionary income after you pay for your more costly essentials and your higher tax bill (including the many indirect taxes), 2012 will be a good year. And that’s assuming you have a job and therefore more than a subsistence income to begin with. Don’t mean to rain on the parade here, actually I love drinking wine on holiday playing with my new tech gadgets, I hope to do that some time this year.

Diesel, insurance, vehicles, electricity, gas etc will be more expensive driving up prices of potatoes, meat, lettuce etc.
I will be buying luxuries from UK as a protest to the hike in VAT.
The late Brian Lenihan Jnr. Is probably enjoying watching English language teacher Michael Noonan preparing to fall on his political sword.
If the FF hike in VAT from 21% to 21.5% was wrong and had to be reversed, why will the hike from 21% to 23% be a success?
    Surely sense should prevail.

As for houses…well…they can be as cheap as chips but it won’t matter as the banks aint lending.

I think the point is being missed somewhere along the line. The items referred to will be cheaper because they are discretionary purchases and sales have collapsed. Over supply and falling demand.
