The NTMA website is still down after an attempted hack this morning

The National Treasury Management Agency detected a hack earlier this morning.

THE WEBSITE OF the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) is still down this afternoon, after an attempt was made to hack the site this morning.

A statement from the agency, which handles the assets and liabilities of the government, said that the website remains down as a “precautionary measure”.

They said they had “detected an unauthorised attempt to publish content on its website from a remote source”.

RTÉ News reports that the site briefly displayed the message “Long Live Peshmerga”, before it was suspended.

The NTMA statement added: “The website is hosted offsite with no connection to the NTMA’s IT systems or operations.

The Agency’s standard IT protocols took effect as soon as the unauthorised access attempt was detected. This suspension has no impact on the NTMA’s IT systems or operations.

“Access to the website will be restored as soon as possible”.

I suppose looking ahead and seeing that massive swathes of habitat will disappear and not seeing that as a good thing is the alternative?

I thought it was good for a company that has a very small time frame every year to harvest.

Well at least they’re scooping out the middle of Ireland and flogging it to the UK for their gardens and all that will be left is a great big brown swimming pool for further Irish heatwaves and bog snorkeling. They should have to subsidise compulsory swimming lessons on the national curriculum in exchange for the turf.
