Two men arrested after drugs destined for Galway rag week seized

The drugs have an estimated street value of €50,000.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested after drugs believed to be destined for the Galway “rag week” market were seized by gardaí.

The men in their early 20s were arrested after herbal cannabis and approximately 4,000 ecstasy tablets were discovered during a search today.

The drugs have an estimated street value of €50,000.

The two men are being held at Galway Garda Station.

The search was part of ongoing joint investigations targeting drug trafficking in the Galway area.

A joint intelligence led operation was conducted by Revenue’s Customs Drugs Law Enforcement and the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau supported by officers from the Galway Regional Drugs Unit.

Students! Enjoy your rag week, but if you do indulge, get safe and check your supply. Always test a tiny scraping a few hours before, just to test a reaction. Never take more even if you think they’re weak at first, and look out for your friends.

pillreports.net and bluelight.org are essential for you. Get educated.

    @Seán Tynan:
    That’s stupid advice for nowadays…
“Coke” and ecstasy is mixed with baby laxatives and dental antiseptic,
So when you “test” it on your gums, and they go numb, that’s not from the “Coke” but from the dental shiit it’s mixed with…
And their is no such thing as “come up Shiits” as I’ve heard a lot of people on nights out describe, that’s the baby laxatives.

I suppose that makes a bit more sense.
I taught you meant testing quality.
But their still just taking mostly baby laxatives and dental shiit with baking soda anyway ha.

The quality of this stuff now is just horrendous, but people are stupid enough to buy it anyway so their going to keep mixing it till their is no drug left in it and it’s just a concoction of stuff you buy in the pharmacy

@stephen mc galey: Oh you’re right there Stephen. There is no QC on the underground market. But it’s not baby laxatives and baking soda that kids die from.

From what I have seen, most tragedies can be prevented with common sense, such as know your source and know your dose.

That’s not easy, but people need education (see my links above), and be very wary of what is handed to them in a pill or powder, especially in these new days of RCs.

Testing should be free and available in clubs, or anywhere. But, hey, drugs are bad m’kay?

I have done my time with MDMA in my youth, but the only drugs I have ever valued and continued with (rarely) are cannabis and liberty cap mushrooms.

I’m in my mid 40′s and still like a smoke here and then.

Once or twice a year, some mushrooms are very beneficial, even though it’s a difficult experience, which i do alone, in my bedroom.

@Seán Tynan: ok I get what your saying…
But at the same time, it’s made in a filthy basement or wherever anyway (E) so either way their is just a concoction of shit mixed in with the pills anyway, so their is no real way to be safe with does kind of drugs.
It doesn’t matter who your source is or where they come from, people are still going to take it, same way as people take it now knowing it’s mixed with god knows what from God knows where.

Herbal cannabis and 4,000 yokes = 50,000€. They are probably valuing a yoke at a tenner so that’s 40,000€, and 10,000€ worth of weed so that’s half a kilo to them. But it’s hard to guess when they never value anything correctly.

@Uncle Monty: How they value these things does not matter. The media headlines put a monetary value on it. It does not matter. What matters is the nature of the drugs, and their safety.

They, our establishment cannot control safety, because of their own laws.

And every time someone dies, they blame the drugs, and not our laws.

Even sources of education aren’t allowed. That’s why bluelight have to register in RU.

    Think!

Or do we just brush it under the carpet like the rest of their corruption ? We’re talking about people going to jail here…

Jesus, in this country we consume huge amounts if drugs. Nearly every 2nd story is about a drug bust. Who says crime does not pay if they are only finding/busting 5-10 % of the amount that’s consumed. No wonder there are so many criminals/wasted/junkies/walking dead. It’s unreal.

I was living in Galway a few years ago and a guy brought 10,000 tabs of acid, really strong micro dots in to town and flooded the place with them.
It was one of the maddest weekends ever. He was driving around town like a lunatic handing them out, collecting money, dropping tabs and partying 24 hours a day. The craziest guy I’ve ever encountered, absolutely mad.
Then he just disappeared. India I think.
