TODAY, A TRAIN travelling from Connolly Station to Sligo was delayed for 40 minutes while waiting for gardaí to arrive to collect CCTV footage.
A tweet sent out by Iarnród Éireann indicated that something serious had happened.
Iarnród Éireann received a call from a man who said that his bag had been robbed while on the train.
He emerged from the bathroom to find that his bag was gone and a man walking off the train with his bag in hand.
The gardaí were called and the 11.05 train from Connolly Station to Sligo waited in a lay-by at Enfield for gardaí to collect the CCTV footage.
A couple of hours later, a cleaner came across an unaccompanied bag while tidying the train.
It turns out the man’s bag hadn’t been robbed – he’d just taken a wrong turn when coming out of the bathroom, and returned to a different carriage, while his bag remained untouched in the next one over.
Nothing was missing from the bag and it was returned to its mortified owner.
It’s understood the man apologised to Iarnród Éireann and to the gardaí for reporting the incident, but really it’s a happy ending.
With a slight warning perhaps, that it’s not wise to assume the worst of your fellow passengers.

David, in a fusion reactor the temperature needs to be roughly 100million degrees Celsius. The core of the sun is roughly 15 million degrees Celsius. The massive gravitational force of the sun can help overcome the forces of repulsion between the two positively charged hydrogen nuclei as well as the 15 million degrees. We don’t have the massive gravitational force in a terrestrial reactor so we need extreme heat.

Incidentally, most of the energy in a real H-bomb weapon is still generated by fission rather than fusion because of “staging”. The neutrons released from the fusion reaction being energetic enough to fission the cheap, unenriched, U238 blanket surrounding the core.

I don’t think you can call the Japanese Empire innocent by any shape or form. The two bombs were abhorrent, but other mass firebombing attacks on German/Japanese cities were far more effective, cheaper and had a much higher death count.

Does anybody else find it strange that America went to war with Iraq because they claimed they had weapons of mass destruction when as the Iraq ‘s always stated that they never had any, and always threatened Iran with war if they continued to try and develop nuclear power stations. But when North Korea says they have them and they will use them on the US there’s a deafening silence from Obama, Clinton, John Kerry and the rest of the White house? Just a thought.
