Snow and ice grip the country as weather warning in place on frosty morning

A status yellow warning is in place until 10am this morning.

A STATUS YELLOW weather warning is in place across the country this morning, as Met Éireann says snow and ice are widespread, with heavy rain and further snowfall predicted throughout the day.

Snow is expected in parts of Leinster, and in the north and east of Munster, especially on high ground this morning.

Last night was a bitterly cold one, as temperatures fell as low as -4 in some areas.

While it will be cold this morning, frost and icy patches will clear throughout the morning, before heavy rain arrives in Leinster and east Munster.

Temperatures will vary between 4 and 8 degrees, with brighter spells in Connacht and Ulster.

AA Roadwatch is advising motorists to give themselves plenty of time to reach their destination and to use major roads which are more likely to have been gritted than secondary roads.

It adds: “Remember that stopping distances are 10 times longer in ice and snow”.

There are reports of several traffic collisions causing delays on roads this morning, with snow on roads around Thurles, Carlow Town, Portlaoise and Drogheda.

Extreme care is advised on the M1 Dublin to Belfast road in Louth after an earlier crash at J11 Monasterboice.

Two trucks are stuck in the snow on the N80 Portlaoise/Carlow road, causing delays on the Carlow side of Stradbally at Windy Gap.

The M8 Cork to Dublin road northbound is closed at J5 Twomileborris following a crash. Diversions are in place via J6 Thurles.

This bank has seen more English bankers moved across the sea than former I.R.A men across the border .
It seems to me “banksters” practice relocation as much as any other secretive organisations – let’s hope it’s not for the same reason !

P T S B the Bank appointed by this Government to take over the running of the former Credit Union in NEWBRIDGE Co. Kildare. A town now without a Credit Union and whose residents are about to lose possession of the building they paid for to the D S P. Without a cent being reimbursed to the members of the former Credit Union, and still no answers from its last Board of Directors.

If they wanted to keep their credit union the members should have run it better.

I am aware of a person who had a deposit if €150,000 with TSB with a fixed rate of 2% for 15 months.

The same person had an opportunity to buy an apartment for €65,000 with a rent of €7,200 PA.

TSB were asked for a loan of €65,000 secured by the deposit of €150,000 and they quoted a rate of interest of 7.5% for the loan a surplus of 5.5% over the cost of funds.

    This is usury!

Does the Central Bank of Ireland have any control over Banks or is it all a joke?
