Petrol bomb thrown through front window of house in 'extremely reckless attack'

One man is believed to have been injured in the attack.

POLICE IN THE North are investigating after a petrol bomb was thrown through the front window of a house in Armagh yesterday evening.

The incident occurred shortly before 11.30pm in the Lakelands area of Craigavon.

The petrol bomb caused substantial damage to the property, and minor injuries to one of the occupants inside, believed to be a young male.

The PSNI said that a group of three or four youths were seen running away from the scene.

Detective Inspector Stephen Harvey said that this was an “extremely reckless attack and it is fortunate that the injuries were not considerably worse”.

DUP MP for Upper Bann David Simpson also referred to the incident as reckless, and said that “there can be no place for those who engage in such attacks.

“It is vital the police are given all necessary assistance to ensure those responsible are brought before the courts,” Simpson said.

He added that he was particularly concerned about the reports of youths running from the scene and encouraged them to identify themselves to the PSNI “if only to be eliminated from the inquiry”.

Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at Lurgan police station, quoting reference 1249 23/3/17.

Such a tragedy. Watching the investigators trying to recreate the fire and nearly burning an airport hangar shows you just how clueless they were about what happened. Hoping one day all families will get answers.

Such a sad story. That quote from Dunphy at the top of the article is very true. The government of today is as incompetent as the one back then. A very frustrating part of life in Ireland.
