APARTMENTS WERE EVACUATED at Beacon South Quarter in Sandyford, south Dublin, this evening after a domestic fire broke out.

Four Dublin Fire Brigade units from Dun Laoghaire and Donnybrook fire stations have since brought the blaze under control.

Residents were evacuated from one of the Cube apartment complexes in the development after the fire broke out in the bedroom of one of the apartments.

There were no injuries as a result of the blaze and it is expected that residents will soon return to their homes.

Last month, it was revealed that owners of apartment in the development have to pay €10,000 each to address fire safety and water leakage problems at the complex.

The overall bill for repairs is more than €10 million, which residents have said previously that they’d struggle to afford.

In a separate incident this evening, fire units dealt with a domestic fire in Stepaside in south county Dublin.

Residents were evacuated from apartments in the area and the fire has since been brought under control.

No injuries were reported.

    A result may be upgraded or downgraded as a result of an appeal. http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/education/state_examinations/appeal_leaving_cert.html

    The fear for many is that they might be downgraded on appeal.

    @winston smith: I’m almost sure they can’t downgrade the result. Either you go up or keep your original grade.

    @winston smith:

    I can’t imagine that creates much fear in students. If a student genuinely feels they were wronged and they should have received a higher grade they will hardly be expecting to get a lower one.

    How can they get so many results wrong? Don’t they know a bad result can change the course of a younger person’s life
