Seven killed as Kano rocked by explosions and gunfire

Several are feared dead as panic descends on the largest city in Nigeria. Radical Islamist sect Boko Haram have claimed responsibility for the latest attack.

AT LEAST SEVEN people have been killed in Nigeria’s largest city, after it was rocked by explosions and gunfire today.

The attack began shortly after Friday prayers in Kano, in Nigeria’s mainly Muslim north.

Eyewitnesses said the city’s police headquarters was targeted by a lone bomber carrying a bag, the Guardian reports.

The BBC reports that police stations in the centre and south were also targeted.

The radical Islamist sect Boko Haram have claimed responsibility for the attack: the group has been behind a recent spate of killings in northern Nigeria.

Like Christian Anders Breivik? Violence exists everywhere and religion is just another excuse for man to be intolerant to man.

I have my opinions regarding Islam and every other religion. Despite this, Boko Haram do not represent Islam, neither do Al Qaeda.
