Poll: Do you think it's acceptable that Ivanka Trump was booed at?

A German crowed booed and hissed at the US President’s daughter for saying her father was an advocate of families.

DO YOU THINK it’s ok to boo a speaker at an event? And does it make a difference if that person is a world leader’s daughter?

While attending a women’s summit in Germany yesterday, US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka was booed at after praising him as an advocate for women and families during a discussion on paid maternity leave.

“That is something I’m very proud of my father’s advocacy, long before he came into the presidency, he championed this in the primaries. He’s been a tremendous champion of supporting families and enabling them to thrive,” she said.

So we’re asking: Do you think it’s acceptable that Ivanka Trump was booed at?

If she’s happy use the Trump brand to her advantage in business she has to accept the negativity surrendered by his behavior.

@Alan Rooney: Successful people get used to jealousy. Some people avoid becoming successful as they fear the negative thoughts of their lazy friends. A lot of poverty can be blamed on fear of resentment and is why poverty greatly runs in clans and communities.

@Tom Molloy: so let me get this straight a lot of poverty is caused by fear of resentment of becoming successfully and not due social and economic situations? Seriously have to disagree on that one. Plus I don’t see how you comment is really relevant to my post given the fact I have no resentment of anyone using whatever advantage available to becoming successful. I was merely making the point that if one of the advantages she chose to use comes with it’s own negativity she should have to deal with it along with the success it brought.

@Tom Molloy: Trump isn’t a success though? His daddy made money through corruption – and Trump inherited $200 million from him. Forbes calculated that he should be worth $12 Billion (if he had left that money in a Trust which got average stock market returns since 1980′s) but by all accounts Trump is worth $3 Billion, he hasn’t paid taxes since 1990′s and his companies have gone bankrupt 6 times!

@Peter O’ Neill: what difference does any of this really make, people get so excited about things and form such strong opinions about people they know very little about and what they do know they more than likely got from an untrustworthy or propagandist news source.

its quite simple, all of those women should have been boo’d, they are not trying to do anything for ordinary women and don’t be fooled, up on that stage was a load of female 1%ers and all they were doing was welcoming publicly the trump girl to the club, if you think for a second it was anything to do with empowering women or feminist action then your sadly naive. and as long as they are kept in the positions that they are then ordinary women and men will have nothing and i exclude the trump daughter from this.

Considering the heckling and rantings of ‘Jail the witch ‘ that Hilary Clinton got, from Ivana’s father’s supporters during the election campaign, then I’d say the booing , which was quite mild by all accounts , was her being let off lightly.

I think Angela Merkel should have got a mild booing too, for having invited Ivana to speak at this event. And for inviting unelected Monarchs to speak at it. What message is that giving to women, ‘ marry a prince or have a rich family and you too can achieve your potential. ‘ Hardly inspirational stuff.

She makes his uncouth and reprehensible behavior easier to take through the pretense that there is a liberal/sane steer on his choices, but that’s just her pitch with no evidence of her having any actual impact. I think it’s typical of the left at this stage, forget open discussion just boo and hiss to make the person you don’t like shut up, if it was the other way round and a feminist was speaking and they were on the receiving end of that kind of behaviour there’d be uproar and we’d all be getting lectures on fairness and equality.

I said this yesterday as well but I’ll say it again. The Trump campaign manager was the first woman in US history to lead a successful presidential campaign.

Two Cabinet members and two Cabinet-level officials are women. Even the Washington Post had an article back in 2015 where women who had worked at Trump’s companies said he was ‘ahead of his time’ for facilitating their development.

This was a gathering of wealthy, globalist elites. Not unlike when the Regiment of Flanders trampled the French tricolor at a party in the Palace of Versailles in rejection of the new political order heralded by the French revolution. The regiment of the rich see Ivanka and Trump as heretics of their class because they have put the working man and women first, instead of the elite. In a sense Donald Trump is a second Lafayette in that sense. I can almost imagine Marie Antoinette in that room, bemoaning the “populism” of the Revolution.

No but I think CNN etc have overdone this story. It was more groans and hisses than boos. It wont hurt Donald with his base, who would see such gatherings as echo chambers of the globalist elite including the IMF. Christine Lagarde was sitting beside Ivanka and she was recently found guilty of negligence in handling the Tapie arbitration approval, yet noone complains about the ethics of her being allowed remain as IMF boss.

It’s been suggested that Ibrahim and his family went to Egypt to act as agents provocateurs, under papa Halawa’s instigation. But many feel that it’s unfair to blame the son for the politics of the father. Is it fair to blackguard Ivanka Trump for Donald? If so, is Ibrahim Halawa fair game also?
