GUNMEN ATTACKED A bus carrying Egyptian Christians south of the capital today, killing at least 20 people, state media and officials said.
“There are more than 20 dead and more than 20 wounded,” a senior health ministry official told AFP.
The attack in Minya province came after church bombings in December and April claimed by the Islamic State jihadist group that killed dozens of Egypt’s Coptic Christians.
The jihadists threatened more attacks against the Arab country’s Christian minority.

Christians were also safe in Iraq under Sadam Hussein. His deputy foreign minister Tariq Aziz was a Christian.

This ideology will not co exist with any other. Wake up to this , look a Lebanon look at Egypt. The five centres of Christianity are all but gone, Christianity is/was a middle eastern religion. Judaism is all but gone in the middle east. Multiculturalism will not work if one culture wants to eradicate the other.

The religious apologists who try and blame the west for Paris and Manchester etc always seem to brush over the fact that most jihadist terrorism is against other religions in their own countries or between different sects of Islam.

Therefore, if they are not then it follows that random wholesale slaughter of innocent Western citizens can never ever be justified or explained away by inane comments referencing Western involvement in Muslim countries . The bottom line is that Islam (their holy books) gives plenty of “cover” to those who carry out these atrocities and clears their conscience of any guilt or wrong doing. In fact it rewards them. So if Islam is not the problem as people contend, then WTF has the Palestinian problem got to do with Somalis, Pakistanis, Libyans etc etc.? Nothing absolutely nothing it’s a problem for the Palestinians, Israel, The UN and other World bodies to sort out! Why did 18 Saudi’s attack the USA on 9/11? Don’t recall the US ever bombing or occupying Saudi? Why did an Englishman who converted to Islam in later life slaughter people in London recently, if Islam is not the problem? What did the Spanish do to deserve the slaughter of their citizens in the Madrid train bombings? Again nothing. Islam is the core problem and this ideology needs to be stopped!

What some of us are doing is countering the idea that this comes out of nowhere, ‘it’s coz of islam innit’, that the west is innocent, because after Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya etc you’d be inclined to think well if I was a muslim, I wouldn’t need any fking religion to hate the west. Extreme islam is without doubt a serious and growing problem, but people already losing their nerve at the first hint of danger and lashing out at a significant minority is probably the worst possible solution.

Why is it when attacks like this happen across Europe there is no shortage of media coverage or support by people across the globe..people even change their bloody fb status to show their support..but this attack here will only get the mention once on the journal and maybe make this evenings news..I really don’t get it.
A life is a life and all innocent civilians are equal…the 20 odd killed here deserves just as amount of empathy and support as Europeans or anyone across the globe.

Isn’t it interesting that the Halawa’s have never made any public remark offering condolences in relation to the Palm Sunday massacre or this one? Considering that they are the most prominent Egyptian family in Ireland and that their brother is imprisoned there, a country with much political strife, one would imagine it media savvy to offer condolences and condemn the violence against Christians? It would also help to stem the criticism about their Islamist links. But they haven’t done, remained conspicuously silent. Telling, isn’t it?
