Rainfall radar Met Éireann Met Éireann

Very unsettled

There’ll be some heavy showers early tonight, but these will become scattered away from the Atlantic coast and most places will become dry. Overnight temperatures will dip to lows of eight to 11 degrees.

Tomorrow will be bright with sunny spells and well scattered, mostly light, showers. Rain will develop in southwestern counties later in the afternoon, spreading further northeastwards during the evening. Highest temperatures will reach 16 to 19 degrees.

Tomorrow night will be wet and blustery with heavy rain in many places.

Met Éireann says the weather will be “very unsettled for the rest of the week” with some heavy rain also expected over the weekend.

Earlier forecast

Heavy rain and thundery showers occurred overnight and will also happen throughout the day, leading to rain of 25 to 40mm in some places.

Met Éireann says there’ll be heavy rain in many places across the country with some hill and coastal fog that will clear gradually later. Some sunny spells will develop in places but there will also be very heavy showers and some thundery downpours this afternoon. Spot flooding and hail are also expected.

It will be close and humid, will top temperatures reaching 15 to 18 degrees Celsius.
