Human remains found as part of investigation into death of rapist James Nolan

The discovery was made at Lough Na Glack near Carrickmacross.

HUMAN REMAINS HAVE been discovered by gardaí during a search at a site in Co Monaghan as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of James Nolan.

The discovery was made at Lough Na Glack near Carrickmacross. Searches at the site have been ongoing since Tuesday. The local coroner and the state pathologist have been notified.

The remains have yet to be identified and enquires are ongoing. Searches at the site are continuing and no further information is available at this time.

As part of the investigation, human remains were previously found in Tolka Valley Park in Dublin.

Nolan, 46, of Fairlawn Road in Finglas, had not been seen since his release from prison in 2010 after serving a term for burglary.

In February 2011, a human arm discovered on Dollymount Beach in Dublin was identified through DNA testing as that of the convicted criminal.

In 1986, Nolan was sentenced to 14 years in prison for his part in the gang rape of a 23-year-old woman.

Save the money to spend it later on coffins and a new crematorium in every town.
When I hear of places like Airside retail park being absolutely jammed yesterday and other retail parks reporting the same.
Dublin city full of people out walking around as though they are too important for the virus to infect.
    People are as thick .

@JusticeForJoe: when someone dies from a road traffic accident or a murder or anything horrific they seem to throw up a picture and give the name of the deceased, but with the virus they just give a number. I think it’s time that we start seeing the people who are dying from this thing and make it more real for anyone who thinks it’s OK to herd in groups on the streets and in the parks. Maybe if you see the possible result of your behaviour it might give more responsibility. Obviously with the consent of the deceased family. RIP

I genuinely don’t think even that would have any effect on these idiots.
These selfish people will be the first ones on social media lamenting the loss of a parent or child and blame everyone else.
Personally I couldn’t care less if these people live or die but it’s the innocent people they infect I feel sorry for.

They have been warned about this virus since January. Did they think the Chinese were building hospitals (in a week) for the craic!! Now our doctors and nurses are been told to wash their face masks in a 70 degree wash because they didn’t have the foresight to order earlier. Sorry don’t mean to rant I’m just so upset.

Once the amount of infections go up and we run out of ICU beds this will change.

If you look at Italy where it is nearly 10% it’s going to be hard.

Even Germany says their current 0.5% (extensive testing, isolation and quality health care) is low because they still have capacity but that is nearly running out.

We are keeping deaths to a small amount so far. Look at our death per population compared to UK and even NI. Hopefully we can maintain that.

Also, Ireland is near the top of these lists because we’re testing more aggressively than elsewhere, so claiming we have high cases per capita isn’t accurate.

I won’t let anyone on a check out till touch my food in gloves to scan my food and I ask to scan my own out . Leave the gloves in healthcare and wash your hands before you eat, touch your face and before you go in or out of your house . Please .Thats hand hygiene not gloving up .

Could be less if they change their gloves more frequently than they have opportunities to get to a sink. Personally, I put gloves on when I leave my car, do my shop and pop them in the bin after I return my trolley. I have hand santiser in the car for my return and then wash my hands in the sink as soon as I get back home. Gloves can play a part.

I suppose when you get to hospital you would not let any nurse or doctor near you with gloves too … that is the implication of your comment.. of course there are some shops where you can scan your own produce so I assume you are limiting your shopping to them – and are you washing the boxes and cartons and bags your food came in as someone had to handle them to put them on the self… sometimes we just jump in without thinking of the consequences…

@David Glynn: No more grease for the wheel from the budget, nobody wants free houses they just want to be able to afford rent. This government has an agenda fed from Europe to disallow people to own property by making sure they pay huge rents which is disabling the renter from saving for a mortgage as they privatise the real estate market as to scope. Look past LV who’s their poster boy at them. LV and MM are an out and out discrace to the people of Ireland and anyone who supports them either has vested interests or are just down right silly

Yesterday local council workers cut the trees in my estate with the usual tea huddle.

Plus being approached by people for a chat with less than 2 meters distance.

Its time to enact some common sense measurements like in France when it comes to how is allowed to leave the house.

People really don’t understand the scope of this and when someone puts realistic forecast figures out about the infection rate and possible death count in Ireland it’s called creating a panic.

When will people understand that our health system won’t be able to cope with this.

“The UK’s House of Commons has shut down early for its Easter break as a result of the outbreak.”

The Aussie parliament is closed till August. The PM is in the Trump mould. He says we have two crises – a virus and the economy. So, Oz is stuffed. He won’t act decisively, in case it hurts the economy. Hairdressers are allowed to cut hair. How do they do that with a 1.5 distance? He is an idiot. We need a total lockdown. It is almost too late, though. NZ has the right idea – total lockdown while there are zero deaths.

@Tanks a Minion: while Morrison is a clown, comparisons with Trump are very unfair. Australia has pretty much shut down, more so than Ireland has. The hairdressing thing is bizarre but I’d be very surprised if in a month or so we’ll be looking back and saying it was keeping hairdressers open that caused all those deaths.

@The Guru: Both Trump and Slomo are prioritising the economy, both are not intelligent. Ireland has made some mistakes, too. The hairdresser thing causes confusion. There is a mixed message – stay at home but you can go get a haircut. Slomo has kept the schools open, too. That sends a mixed message. It seems to me that Slomo and his Chief Medical Officer are going for herd immunity. Australia’s growth is a few days behind Ireland’s but on the same trajectory. I am hoping for the state premiers to do their own lockdown, on Friday.

@Sk19: Ireland’s infection rate is worrying. Australia’s trajectory. I am hoping for a more a lockdown, on Friday. Interestingly, back in February, the Aussie government was telling us to visit Asian restaurants, where business had dropped off. When I did visit a local Asian shopping and restaurant area, the people who were missing were the Asians. They were taking the situation seriously, while the rest of Australia was listening to the Aussie government who said there was nothing to worry about. Our PM was telling us to go the footy two weeks ago.

Many are now being shafted by their landlords for next month’s rent out of their deposits….
