No mention of Phibsboro’s biggest accommodation scheme ,Mountjoy prison and the mater hospital .Both massive institutions that bring people to the area and not always the nicest people. Phibsboro’ has many problems too

Always thought it was spelt Phibsborough.Suppose it doesn’t really make a difference though kinda like Palmerston or Palmerstown

@Jonny: So not a working class area. It became a run down rental area but was a wealthy area first and now is going up again. It really is going the way of Rathmines
@Jonny: Grim as I remember it in the 1970′s and nothing much has changed except the 109X bus route and traffic congestion.

How did @michfreeman manage to ignore a major prison, hospital, firestation, garda station, bus depot and mcgowans from his piece. Poorly researched and badly written piece.
What about the White Moose Cafe ? They have done more to highlight the area than most ? Any reason for their omission?

Lived on phibsboro road for 3 years in ground floor apartment , decided to get out of when it was becoming all too common to find someone pissing up against my bedroom window at turf out time. Kip.

@Deirdre Coyne Farrelly: I like the look of The Bald Eagle , hopefully they will have a nicer clientele compared to its previous incarnations. I myself will certainly be checking this place out. Looks like they did a fine job.
It’s a nice area but it’s 15 years away from being compared to Sandymount or Ranelagh I reckon..

Yea and KBC know a lot about data. Maybe they could share the real data behind them ripping off customers…it’s actually pathetic to see all these banks with their “nicey nicey” ad campaigns and sponsorship of articles like this. Maybe they would be better off spending less on this type of trite and actually pass some real benefit to customers…another pathetic excuse for a bank.
Kung Fu Buffet has 3e fry ups. Charity shops are cool & The Gravediggers pub is nearby in Glasnevin.
