Police in Derry investigating 'serious and malicious' paramilitary-style attack on teenager

The assailants all wore masks.

POLICE IN DERRY are investigating a report of a serious and malicious assault on a teenager.

The in the Gartan Square area of Derry, just after midnight yesterday.

Chief Inspector Alan Hutton said:

“The assault has all the hallmarks of a paramilitary-style attack, with the assailants all wearing masks.

“These attackers set upon a vulnerable 15-year-old boy with iron bars – and the victim sustained a number of broken bones as a result.

“Anyone who has information that could help with our investigation should contact detectives at Strand Road, using the non-emergency number 101 and quoting reference number 28 of 10/6/17.”

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

    I wish Sinn féin could have fielded more candidates, such a great result. I am so fed up with status quo. The interchangeable government, not the band. Never the band.

    I like the slow counting. It took a few hours for Labour to realise how badly they had done. A slow painful realisation was better than a quick slap.

    e-voting. Martin Cullen of FF was before his time.

    Everyone gets something similar to a lotto ticket with the old fashioned version of the polling ticket on the back.

    Run them through the machines and have the count and transfers done in a few hours. Then do a random nationwide sample to detect if any parties are up to their old tricks.

    Far too complicated for the yokels though.

    I used those dreadful e-voting machines. They wouldn’t let you spoil the vote and there was no paper trail to ensure hey were accurate
