Weapons seized in Dublin dissident search

Authorities make the forth round of arrests – on both sides of the border – in a week.

GARDAÍ TARGETING THE activities of dissident republicans have seized a pipe bomb, two shot guns and ammunition in Kiltipper in Tallaght, reports RTÉ.

Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit, assisted by local units uncovered the weapons as part of an ongoing operation.

There were no arrests made in the incident, which is the fourth such seizure that has been made on both sides of the border in one week.

The Army Bomb Disposal unit made a the pipe bomb safe.

Meanwhile, three men arrested on Monday by PSNI have been charged in relation to dissident activity. All three men are in their 20s, and were to appear before Strabane Magistrates’ Court today.

They have all been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and with having ammunition in suspicious circumstances.

A fourth man who was arrested as part of the same operation remains in police custody.
