Highs of 27 degrees to start the week

But the rain is planning an appearance on Wednesday.

TODAY IS SET to be another warm and sunny day with highs of 25 degrees this afternoon.

Met Éireann says there will be little or no wind inland, with moderate coastal sea breezes in the afternoon.

Tomorrow will be hotter again with top afternoon temperatures set to reach 27 degrees.

However, the sunshine is expected to turn hazy in the east and south and there is a slight risk of some thundery showers breaking out there later.

On Wednesday, there’s a risk that a spell of rain will turn heavy, with more expected on Thursday.

@Paul Foot: I’d say they are like swimming shorts for the sunny weather but with a built in coat mechanism for the accompanying rain. An Irish summer essential.

Loving the great weather. I know one particular person who will say its too hot. The same person says its too wet when it rains. Its too cold when its cold and too windy when its windy. I’m sure we all know someone who never stops giving out no matter the weather

@DJ Dave Wexford: I spoke to two people over the weekend who said it’s been a terrible summer… I’m a bit puzzled at the perspectives of some people but for me a few bad weekends apart – it’s been relatively good weather since about April/May.
