Man in his 60s dies after van collides with truck in Kerry

Gardaí in Listowel are investigating the incident.

A MAN IN his 60s has died after his van collided with an articulated truck in Co Kerry earlier today.

The man was seriously injured following the collision, which occurred at Ballyduff, Knocknagoshel – on the N21 Castleisland to Abbeyfeale Road – at about 1pm.

He was brought to University Hospital Kerry, but was later pronounced dead. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

Gardaí in Listowel are investigating the incident. A stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by garda forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealed to witnesses to contact Listowel Garda Station on 068 50820, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
