'Explosion' at busy London train station turns out to be an e-cigarette

British Transport Police said in a statement that officers responded to Euston station in north London after receiving reports of an explosion there.

POLICE IN THE UK say a scare at a busy London railway station has turned out to have been caused by an electronic cigarette.

British Transport Police said in a statement that officers responded to Euston station in north London after receiving reports of an explosion there.

The station, a central hub for inter-city passenger trains that is connected to a major subway station, was evacuated while bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in to help search the premises.

The police statement says the investigation is ongoing, but that the small explosion “is believed to have been caused by an e-cigarette which was in a bag at the station”.

No injuries were reported, although local media report that some passengers fled the station in panic.

The BBC reports that the station was closed for 90 minutes while BTP investigated the source of the explosion and the London Undergound didn’t stop there during this time.

Witnesses reported crowds running from the scene.

Hysteria has gotten out of control thanks to Alt-Right cranks doing the bidding of ISIS online.

@Atheos Euripides: So the hysteria has nothing to do with the recent terrorist attacks in London and around Europe so?

@Dj: Partially, but it’s mostly as a result of the Alt-Right propoganda machine playing into the hands of ISIS and stoking fear among ordinary citizens.

@Atheos Euripides: Yes, the targeting of kids at a pop concert and the multiple attacks in London this year by Islamic extremists is definitely not the main cause. Why that’s just part and parcel of living in a big city.

Hold on, I thought London was not afraid.
Isn’t that what they all said when they were lighting candles, and laying flowers in memory of Barcelona?
Looks to me like they’re a bit twitchy.
