Train delays in Dublin after truck hits bridge at Amiens Street

IRISH RAIL DART and Commuter services are experiencing delays of up to 20 minutes after a truck hit a bridge at Amiens Street in Dublin city.

Services between Connolly Station and Tara Street were suspended earlier but have since reopened.

Amiens Street was partially blocked inbound at Connolly Station but, according to AA Roadwatch, the truck has since been cleared.

    These bridges often appear out of nowhere and they lower themselves as you drive under them.

    Is it not law that a truck driver must know the height of his vehicle at all times.my dad was a truck driver for almost 40 yrs and never hit a bridge always knew his vehicles parametres.how professional are these lads

    @Emmet Dillane: good point Emmet but as a high sided transport driver every one should be aware of the height of their vehicle ,driving in dublin it’s impossible to get northside – southside without an overhead bridge on your route, most if not all bridges have hight notifications ,now you make yourself aware of the height restrictions on your journey and if needs be use alternative route but yeah it’s crazy why company’s don’t enforce this knowledge on their drivers !

    There is insufficient advance road signage en route alerting foreign truck drivers of the numerous bridges en route from docklands.Problem solved
