The aftermath following the Parcel Motel break in last night. Nauris Serna

Parcel Motel depot emptied by thieves in Dublin

The incident happened in the early hours of yesterday morning.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING after a Parcel Motel depot was cleared out in Dublin in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Dozens of boxes were opened by thieves at the Newcastle Road junction in Lucan, west Dublin.

Customers are now being urged to contact the company by email if they fear they have lost their deliveries.

The precise number of people affected is not yet known. However, locals have reported seeing empty boxes strewn across nearby streets – people’s packages apparently opened and discarded if they were not of any worth to the thieves.

Gardaí are now investigating the incident and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesman said: “Gardaí are investigating a theft incident at a petrol station on Newcastle Road, Lucan, on 19 September at approximately 2am. No arrests have been made so far and investigations are ongoing.”

According to its terms and conditions, Parcel Motel will replace any goods which are “stolen, lost or damaged” or will reimburse the customer €100, whichever is the least.

A spokeswoman for Parcel Motel told TheJournal.ie: “An incident occurred at the Parcel Motel in Adamstown. Parcel Motel takes any security issues extremely seriously; we have contacted the local gardaí who are currently managing the issue. All affected customers have been contacted and Parcel Motel will be reimbursing customers the value of any packages that have been affected.”

Gerry Adams without doubt. He has all the twenty something feminists wet. Strange I know, but their obsession with Adams and feigning a love for the Irish language is quite prevalent.

By tweeting these politicians are not answering direct questions about various topics of which people are interested. No accountability.

Why is the Journal allowed to continue their completely unbalanced and utterly biased reporting of proponents of removing the 8th Amendment. Why the emphasis and biased reporting on tweets by three politicians O’Connell, Ruane and Coppinger on the 8th while they have engaged with many other topics on social media. It’s time for adherence to balanced reporting legislation and severe penalties for those who offend.
