THE CHURCH OF Scientology is opening a new centre in Dublin this weekend.
Back in July, TheJournal.ie reported that the movement was poised to open a 1,300-seater community centre in Firhouse, Dublin.
Documents showed that the Church of Scientology had spent money on refurbishing a community centre that had been was sold to an undisclosed investor a number of years ago.
Now, TheJournal.ie understands that some people associated with the Church of Scientology are travelling to Dublin for the opening of a new centre this weekend.
One wrote on Facebook that they were travelling to Dublin after spending time in Saint Hill in southern England. Saint Hill Manor is the Church of Scientology’s headquarters in the UK.
The Church of Scientology in Ireland currently operates out of two small hubs, both based in Dublin city centre. Last year, it set up a new National Affairs Office on Merrion Square in Dublin.
A phonecall to Scientology Dublin this afternoon confirmed that a new centre was opening in the capital on Saturday, although the individual could not confirm any further details about the event.
The Church of Scientology does not have religious or charitable status in Ireland and its registered company here recorded a profit of €48,803 last year.

God bless them all they look shattered, maybe we should give them a permanent rest.
Maybe they will do nothing until the next concert comes along then they will be galvanised into action and be willing to change the law overnight to make Ireland a better place. I agree with one of the previous comments. They sould have been rested permanently.
