Rolex watches and diamond testing kit seized during operation targeting Kinahan cartel

THE CRIMINAL ASSETS Bureau has seized large quantities of cash and a number of cars following 10 searches in Dublin and Wicklow today.

Officers said they seized around €28,500 and £700 sterling.

Twenty watches including Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Tag Heuer Carrera and Luminor were also recovered along with a small quantity of drugs suspected to be cocaine and cannabis resin.

More than €20,000 has been frozen in financial institutions. Investigating officers also seized a presidium diamond testing kit which is used to verify the quantity of gems.

Documents and mobile phones have been seized.

An investigation will be carried out on the seized goods.

The operation was carried out by gardaí investigating the workings of the Kinahan cartel.

No arrests have been made in relation to the seizures, according to gardaí.

This investigation has been in relation to criminal activity and organised crime in south Dublin.

    @MyBrokenKnees: They’re doing a great job the Gardai but can’t see how the banks with can get away with the tracker mortgage fiasco, and nothing was done ? That’s fraud as well.
