Nigel Farage claims he is 'skint' and says there is no money in politics

In an interview with the UK Daily Mail, Farage talked about his personal life, relationships and how he can’t walk around outside on his own without fear of being attacked.

UK POLITICIAN AND the former leader of Ukip Nigel Farage has claimed that he is “skint”, and has said that there is “no money in politics”.

In an interview with the UK Daily Mail, Farage talked about his personal life, relationships and how he can’t walk around outside on his own without fear of being attacked.

“My life is not easy. There’s a lot of aggro to deal with,” Farage told the paper.

I can’t walk down the street in London on my own. The level of aggression and unpleasantness is constant. I’ll never be able to live a normal life in London.

Farage has recently separated from his wife and currently lives on his own in Chelsea, in London.

In the interview, he describes himself as “53, separated and skint”.

“There’s no money in politics, particularly doing it the way I’ve done it – 20 years of spending more than you earn,’ said Farage.

Farage is currently an MEP, and has been since 1999. He founded Ukip in 1993 and has run seven times for Westminster but has never been elected.

Despite this, Ukip and Farage played a role in last year’s Brexit referendum.

Farage has come in for criticism on social media following the interview, with people pointing out that he lives in a £4 million townhouse in Chelsea and has been taking an MEP salary since 1999.

According to the EU parliament’s website, the average monthly pre-tax salary of an MEP is €8,484 per month – which adds up to about €101,000 per year.

The Daily Mail interview is sympathetic to Farage, saying that he “cares deeply about his country” and calling him “one of the most successful politicians of his generation”.

Farage stepped down as Ukip leader in July, 2016, following the Brexit vote.

He faced criticism for having one of the worst voting records in the European parliament.

Calls himself skint with a 4million house and on €101,000 per year,
Oh yeah, he’s really in touch with the average working joe/mary in the UK, a real man of the people.

One can only feel empathy for such a man,

Nigel, you should come over here and see how we look after our politicians.80,000 straight up and expenses for going to work. This can be substantially increased by promotion to junior or even full minister with chauffeur driven Merc.Unfortunately this may entail some travel but not to worry as you while stay in a 5 star hotel with all expenses paid by a grateful electorate .Yes of course you can bring family members and friends as we wouldn’t want you to be lonely while your performing valuable work for the country.Yet you may have mixed feelings about the Dail.On the one hand you will have to listen to boring, repartee about parochial issues, on the other there’s the reward of a subsidised meal with drinks after. This you can put on your tab and maybe pay at a late date if you wish.I could go on Nigel but I think you get the picture, you see how we look after our hard working dedicated and selfless politicians. One finally point Nigel if you were a politicians over here now you would be on holidays for the next month. We like to give our politicians time off to spend their generous income.Yes Nigel I would vote for you especially if you stood up for us against the bullies in Europe.

Add that to the likelihood that without a soft brexit borrowing costs for the uk are set to rise he would essentially plunge them in the longer term into a recession.

@B9xiRspG: I’m sure that if anything he said was hate speech them he would be in jail now as in the UK if you say anything against Islamification you get arrested. As for lies, what lies were they? He never actually said anything about the contribution recovering whatever silly amount it was as far as I understand it. With regard to Brexit for most people who voted to leave it had nothing to do with money, just EU power and enforced immigration policies. I spent a lot of my life in the UK and unless you have experienced the horrendous changes communities are going through you can’t understand where the leave vote came from. It would have been the same without Farage on the scene.

100k in London is nothing. That’s why he feels skint. He should move to somewhere like Nottingham. 100k would go along way.
