TAOISEACH ENDA KENNY has recorded a special video message to mark the government’s first year in office.
In it, he describes a “year of hard work” and outlines his top priorities for the coming year. Kenny says that his main focus is on job creation and that he hopes “that this time next year I can report significant progress to you on this front”.
The Taoiseach also says that the government has made “a solid start” in tackling the state’s difficulties, “however as we all know there is still a very long way to go and many challenges ahead”.

I’m sick listening to the same old crap! It’s time to give two fingers to Europe and anyone else that’s screwing this country! I say default, bring back the punt! We keep hearing about how well educated and bright the Irish people are! So let’s prove it! Why can’t we start manufacturing our own computers, mobile phones and whatever else is in demand? Why depend on American and British companies to come in and create jobs? From what I gather, Ireland has oil and gas reserves in abundance! The weather’ perfect for generating wind power! Surely it’s time to stand up for ourselves! The low corporation tax incentive doesn’t hold as much appeal as it once did! All I hear from this crowd is how much we need foreign investment! Look at the money the IDA spend attracting these companies! I really wonder if it’s worth it! Produce the goods at the right price and the rest of the world will be queuing up!!

Brilliant John, dislike the video and let them know we’re not falling for any of this PR-mad spin doctoring bullsh*t, show us an improved rather than deteriorating health system, show us a reduction in the number of people unemployed so that less people claim social welfare and more people pay tax, show us a 50-70% reduction in our debts owed abroad, yes it can be done, look at Greece, you can have something, or you can have nothing mentality and surprise surprise they all jump for it. Show us an end to advisors, quangos, jobs for the boys, laundry expenses, unvouched expenses, show us something for pity’s sake that makes us change our mind about the insignificance of Irish politicians today!

The taoiseach has said that one does not have to tell him it has been a though year. Not for him it wasn’t. But for the many families struggling to make ends meet with the Austerity Policies of this Government they are pushing people over the edge. They could take things a little slower and not trying to bring in tough measures all at once. They blame the IMF for all their woes . They hide behind them.There is a lot they could do to ease the burden on Families that is what we elected them to do. They cannot be quoting the IMF all the time.They could start by halving their huge pensions which the country in the present situation we find ourselves in cannot afford. Stoup using contracts as an excuse they can be amended to suite the current financial situation

Roll on the next election – it can’t come soon enough so Kenny and his cohorts will really know how the people feel. He, his Part and their Labour cronies have all shown they are exactly the same as Fianna Fail. After all the hot air they blasted in opposition (Joan Burton is particularly noteworthy in this regard) they are like deflated balloons now they are in power. If they were any good and had any real courage and belief in what they are doing they would ask the people. After that, Get Out, for God’s sake, you’re hopeless.
