FIVE COUNTIES ARE expected to wake up to snow tomorrow morning.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow snow-ice warning for Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Louth and Leitrim. There’s a risk of snow showers in these counties, especially on high ground, leading to accumulations of up to 3cm.
The warning was issued this afternoon and will be in effect from 3am to 3pm tomorrow.
A Status Yellow wind warning is also in place for several counties: Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
Met Éireann said westerly winds veering northwest will reach speeds of 55-60 km/hr along the coast. The warning will be in effect for most of tomorrow – from 6am to midnight.
Forecast
Rain is expected to develop over Ulster and Connacht this evening before extending countrywide early tonight. Met Éireann said showers will follow overnight with some of these turning to hail or sleet. Snow is likely over high ground in the north.
Lowest temperatures will range from zero to three degrees Celsius, with some frost in sheltered spots by dawn and the risk of icy patches.
Tomorrow is expected to be a cold, blustery and showery day. The showers will be mainly over the west and north during the morning but they will extend nationwide in the afternoon, with occasional hail and sleet and some snow on northern hills.
Some thunder is also expected. Highest temperatures will range from four to seven degrees in strong and gusty west to northwest winds, with gales in exposed coastal areas.

Israel operates apartheid in the occupied territories. They also operate apartheid in Israels itself with separate buses for Arabs. The fact Israel does not count Arab names should not surprise anyone. It is at best an ethnocracy, definitely not a democracy. A small example, a few Israeli Arabs decided they would go and fight for one of the sides in Syria, who are considered to be lets just say unfriendly to Israel.
They were arrested at some airport Israeli Airport and BROUGHT TO COURT (must be elegal to go and fight for Israelis enemies, I suppose they are a bit funny about that) with a Israeli LAWYER etc.
Just balance that with the what happened recently in Gaza where people who “collaborated” (probably didn’t want their children used as human shields, or maybe were pissed off at Hamas firing the rockets and said so in public!!! who the hell knows) with Israel were taken out of their mosque and shot like dogs.
We all know of the thousands of people butchered in Iraq and Syria by ISIL, and the nearly 200,000 in Syria,……………….and you clowns are moaning about Israel.
Actually Taxi Bill there is still about 10 million Christians in Arab countries. The difference is people don’t view them as a single homogenous group the same way they do when they lump all Muslims together. Why should citizens of Israel be required to choose between those two options? Why should they feel any link to other countries in the region? If you felt oppressed here would you run to the US? What if they didn’t let you in because you didn’t meet their immigration rules?
I don’t think anyone here supports Hamas. But funnily enough it’s difficult for liberal democracy and established law and order to take hold when your country is blockaded and bombed constantly. Hamas are exactly the type of violent extremist group you would expect to see when moderates aren’t negotiated with in good faith. And since you are interested in comparative legal systems why don’t you look at how Palestinian children are treated by Israeli courts versus Israeli children or how the occupation was maintained by a military justice system that also includes the use of assassination?
ISIS are an abomination. I haven’t read one comment on here that supports them. Why should people only have an opinion on one issue though? Does that mean if this was the 1970s I shouldn’t comment on South Africa because Pol Pot was busy murdering millions?

The fact that the journal chose to publish this story on the Jewish new year says it all… This is a time for us to reflect on the last year and look forward to a peaceful new one. I hope it was a genuine oversite but there hadn’t been an Israel article in weeks and then it appears on one of the holiest days of the Jewish year. Not very palatable…

Islam isn’t going away anytime soon, so we have a choice. Do we engage in a war that ultimately nobody can win, or do we create a strong secular society that can not be controlled by religious fundamentalists?
I’m in favour of the latter option. A strong secular society that respects peoples right to privacy and the practice of their religious faith in their own homes. But not in schools. Not in hospitals. Not in the public sphere whatsoever. Individuals might need religion, but society doesn’t.
Of course such a suggestion will draw abuse from our home grown religious fundamentalists who see it as their right to impose their beliefs on others in our society. Those hypocrites would rather the endless war.

Correction nearly 9 million Jews live in Israel and1.5 million Arabs live there all live in peace under the same roof , all go to the same schools,eat at the same restaurants and swim in the same swimming pools travel on the same buses, they all have free speech, travel freely through out Israel and over seas, for apartheid to exist in Israel or Gaza there would have to be a situation that closely resembled how things were in South Africa under the Apartheid regime, unfortunately for those who believe this, a weekend in any part of Israel would be enough to show how ridiculous the claim is.
